Riot Games knows how to produce fantastic shows; whether it is League of Legends or Valorant, Riot has always focused on esports. During the world pandemic, Riot managed to pull off one of the best esports events in recent time in Reykjavik, Iceland, hosting the world’s first Valorant LAN tournament.
But the main curiosity among the viewers was which region is the world’s best region in Valorant. Was it NA, EU, or some other region that shocks the world with their dominant performance? And the VCT Masters 2021 Finals was where the answer could have been found.
One of the two teams qualified for the VCT Masters 2021 Finals was Sentinels representing the NA region, which dominantly outperformed every team without losing any map in the whole series. On the other hand, Fnatic represented the EMENA region, also known as the EU region, a team without any previous proper background for the First Person Tactical Shooter game.
The eyes all around the world were looking to find out who will be the best in the whole world, and Sentinels took that victory and wake away home with a beautiful Masters Trophy along with the huge prize money. This victory came with the first two maps with an OT, and the final map was where Sentinels secured their victory by sweeping out Fnatic by 3-0, bringing over one million viewership on Twitch.
This was possible because of smart moves made by Riot allowing only a few creators such as Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek to watch along with their fans and enjoy the tournament. Shroud was alone, pulling over 200k viewership on Twitch. This is the highest viewership ever got by any Valorant tournament ever.
