Every online RPG fan knows about Dark Eden, the classic horror adventure game. It is a game that has been consistently loved for about 20 years, and various mobile and PC games are being developed through Dark Eden IP. Developed by Korean company Softon Entertainment, the game is based on Vampires and Slayers. Dark Eden is touted as the world’s first horror online game and has gathered a community of fans over the years.
Dark Eden game is a war between humans (Slayers), vampires and Ousters in a region called Helea, located in a fictional country of Eastern Europe known as Eslania. The hack and slash game requires the players to kill monsters to progress. The 2D MMORPG online game Dark Eden allows players to either play for free or to buy some points and get special advantages.
There are different game versions, where the International server, as the beta version, is entirely free to play. The game’s original version was in Korean, and later, Japanese, Chinese, Thai and International versions were developed.
The US server operated by Ignited Games was relaunched on Steam in 2016, and DarkEden2 was released in Korea in 2015. The Korean version (The Bloody Chronicles) is the most advanced, with active GMs and regular events. However, one has to be Korean to register for it.
Softon Entertainment was founded in 1999 and launched the original version of Dark Eden in 2002. The game now has over 5 million members and cumulative sales of over 90 billion won. Softon Entertainment will be part of the KOCCA’s South Korean delegation of game developers at Gamescom 2022 in Germany in August 2022.
