Tencent recently unveiled its upcoming title Tarisland, a fantasy MMORPG that will be available on Android, iOS, and PC platforms upon launch. The game will feature epic battles in an immense, wonder-filled universe with a backdrop that combines technology and fantasy elements.
Cross-platform compatibility will make Tarisland accessible on both computers and mobile devices. Tarisland will provide a mechanism where players can organize groups and participate in raids, as was initially announced in China.
Tencent created the game when tensions were rising due to Blizzard and NetEase terminating their licensing arrangements in China, which led to the closure of all Blizzard IPs in China, including World of Warcraft.
Tencent, a major player in the gaming industry in China, unveiled Tarisland, a new MMO, by taking advantage of the confusion and chaos. Although it seems like a lot of fun, people have already noticed that the title has a very familiar feel.
The announcement trailer was jam-packed with fairly obvious World of Warcraft allusions. An evil dragon may be seen crashing menacingly atop two castle towers, purple elves on top of a massive tree, archers wearing armor right out of Sylvanas Windrunner, and more cartoonish features.
Tarisant offers an immersive gaming experience
Players can select one of seven classes for combat, each of which has two distinct fighting styles and specialties for combat and party duties. Players will traverse vast areas filled with various locations and enemies with a new voyage every season.
The story of the game centers on Moira, Leith, and Acheron, the three primordial gods of fate, oblivion, and omen who, as witnesses to the past of countless worlds with intelligent life and a history so rich that a unique creature starts to awaken from inside, respectively. The central conflict in the story is what happens next.
Tarisland will be cross-platform compatible and communicate data simultaneously on both platforms. The game’s non-pay-to-win status meant that players could not buy anything related to character enhancements or attributes, which was another big news. It becomes far more enjoyable to anticipate when progress is rewarded.
The date of the game’s release is presently unknown. The fact that the developers intend to conduct closed beta tests in stages before beginning pre-registrations may give the impression that this will take some time.
